Lunar Love

9-04-09.

I was looking for a good excuse to try out my new lens and with a full moon out it was pretty hard to resist!

Zoo Memorial

9-04-09.

Now that the future of the Gulf Breeze Zoo is looking pretty bleak I thought I would post some pics of some of the beautiful animals they have.

this lion lunged at the fence when I took this and scared the cr*p out of me!

Flower Girls!

9-03-09.

Sometimes with all attention on the bride on her wedding day the flower girls often get neglected in magazine features and blog posts. It is only fair that the kids should get to share some of the lime light! Here are a few of the flower girls from some of my recent weddings. Warning: Be prepared for cuteness overload!

Jennifer and Darrell Engagement Shoot

9-01-09.

Jennifer is nurse practictioner in her proud 40s and Darrell is Network administrator that both drove in from Mississippi for their engagment session. Her only instructions were "Just make me us look HOT!" She told me that she used to be an overweight goth/punk girl in high school and now that she has shed the lbs, she is ready to show off her hard work. Here is a sneek peek from their session. Wedding photos coming soon!

Wedding Featured in the Knot magazine!

7-08-09

Blog stalkers will notice that I have been MIA for awhile but that doesn't mean East Hill Photo doesn't have anything blog worthy to post. We have tons of new stuff to post so stay tuned! This year has flown by and I can't believe former brides are already having babies! First off I want to announce that our California wedding is featured in the latest issue of the Northern California Knot magazine. Mark and Jen were a fantastic couple to work with and I grateful for their stunning taste in decor and flowers.

Male Buodior Session

6-04-09.

The phrase probably conjures up cheesy images of a half naked guy in a leopard skin thong but fear not, we won't torture you. Dustin contacted me because he wanted to surprise his girlfriend with some sexy pics for his girlfriend overseas. He was pretty nervous about the shoot but he really wanted to do something nice for her since she had already sent me photos. He was nervous but he took direction well and I think he did an awesome job. I think his girlfriend will be very happy!

Wedding Featured in Weddings Unveiled Magazine

1-05-09.

Wow! Where has the time gone? This last year completely flew by! I am very excited to annouce that Erin and Josh's wedding is featured in the latest issue of Weddings Unveiled Magazine and can also be seen on their blog! I love the clean elegant look of this wedding magzine that caters to sophisticated brides along the southeast. The covers never have any text except for the logo above a stunning image. Erin and Josh really went all out when they planned their wedding with a moroccan theme in Vero Beach, Florida. Their reception was held at the Windsor Beach Club and everything was top notch. Here are some highlights from the wedding day:

Stay tuned for more updates on this wedding!

They did the beautiful stationary for Kerry Ann and Steven's wedding at the Caribe Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama. You can view the write up here. Seaside Wedding Featured on Southern Weddings Blog!

8-29-08.

Whenever a photography blog doesn't get updated in awhile that can only mean 2 things. Either business is super dead or super busy! Well in my case I am going to have to go with the later! That is when having other wedding blogs write about your weddings is a good thing! I am happy to annouce that my good friends at the awesome Southern Wedding Style Blog have chosen to feature my wedding at Seaside as feature of the week! This wedding was unbelivebably beautiful and execution went extremly smooth thanks to the very talented staff of It's a Shore Thing wedding planning. The posh reception was completly outdoors and the talented staff at Townshend Catering set up a full kitchen in an alleyway and delivered entrees worthy of a 5 Star restaurant. I worked my way thought college in banquets and fine dining back in the day so I could really appreciate all the hard work and professionalism that went into the preparation and serving of the food. You can also view a slideshow of this wedding here.

For those you you not familiar with this national blog, it has a HUGE following of blog stalkers and is a fantastic resource for info and ideas for planning your wedding day. In Style Weddings Magazine even named it one of their favorite wedding blogs. This wedding was such a treat because Mark and Jen were so hospitable to me and all of the venders were top notch all the way.

Californ -I-A!

7-21-08.

I travelled out to shoot an AMAZING wedding in Northern California. Don't worry! I'll be posting photos on the blog soon! In the mean time, I thought I would share some of the landscape and nature photos I shot while I was in the area:

Ok this is an obligatory shot since I was in San Francisco. It actually took a bunch of winding roads, a couple of lucky wrong turns, and a lot of walking to get this shot.

This was my mode of transportation during my visit. I started out at the crack of dawn so I could get an early start. The 4 wheel drive came in handy on the windy steep back roads!

You think the price of gas is high in Pensacola? It's peanuts compared to the price in California! This is an example of one extreme station I was forced to buy from because there wasn't another one available for miles! I almost felt like i was Ireland again.

One thing that surprised me is that on my travels along the coast and the parks, I often found myself being the only one in the area even though it was so close to the major cities. I guess it's sort of like people who live in Pensacola and never go to the beach! I'm not complaining though. It was so quite and peaceful. Did I mention no humidity or mosquitos?

It's hard to tell the scale in this photo but I'm actually on the edge of cliff about 8 stories high shooting down.

The tide pools were crawling with all kinds of neat things to oogle at!

This guy was on the beach chillin' in the sun all by himself. I was the only person on the beach so it was easier to get about 8 feet from him. Sure you can see them at the Pier downtown San Francisco or at the zoo, but there is something magical about seeing an animal in its element out in the wild with no barriers between the two of you. This was one of the best parts of my trip. I took about 20 minutes to creep up on this guy but it was totally worth it.

This is my attempt at a self portrait :)

Mary & Pat's Wedding

It was a great complement to me to be hired for this wedding because the Groom is also a fine art photographer. You know he is going to be picky about trusting another photographer to shoot his wedding! ( I know I would!) However, this couple was sooo easy to work with. I was really looking forward to photographing this wedding!

This was the bridal portrait that was on display at the wedding. As you can probably imagine, everyone thought she looked STUNNING in this vintage dress. She told me that her dress was custom made from fabric salvaged from an old hardware store in New Orleans. Yes, a hardware store! Apparently in the old days they used to sell tools AND fabric!

I love this photo because it looks very vintage and complements her dress perfectly.

And here are some highlights from the wedding day:

This ring bearer was unbelievable cute. This was his only expression most of the day but he knew how to work it!

Being cute all day can really wear you out!

This is the groom's father. He passed away shortly after the wedding from cancer. It was a very emotional day for everyone. He was a true fighter. He was in pain but he wasn't going to let cancer stop him from having a good time at his son's wedding.

Stephanie & Chris

6-21-08.

These guys from Georgia were just about the nicest people you could possibly meet. It was an absolute pleasure working with them. They had a very intimate wedding and everyone had a great time. Here are just some of the highlights!

Natalie & Brandon Wedding

6-14-08.

When I first met Natalie and Brandon I knew they would be an awesome couple to work with. They were so much fun! Natalie is a total closet diva in front of the camera who doesn't know her power. In real life she is about as humble as cab be. As you can probably guess by her bridal photos below, her man completely was blown away!

This is Natalie's reaction to the premier unveiling of her bridal photos. Check out the shower caps on the rest of the girls. They even wore the caps at Hub Stacey's for a drink before arriving!

This is a funny inside joke on whether Natalie should go through with the wedding or not!

Brandon was a real trooper and didn't let his injuries stop him from getting married!

Bridesmaids giving "caged tiger" to the camera!

Brandon signing his life away :)

This is just the begining. Natalie and Brandon both cried through the whole entire ceremony! It was very emotional for everyone.

Old Christ is one of my favorite churches. I love the gorgeous light inside!

Brandon and his brother and sister. These guys get crazy when they are together. I can safely say I've never shot formals like this before!
